Since debuting in Round 1, Siosifa Amone has gone on to play every match and the 21 year old is hungry for more.
Amone has burst onto the Super scene, rising through the Fortescue Academy Program for the past two years. Denoting his six-game succession to the seamless transition and individual attention, he has received over the last two years.
"To make even one game let alone play the last six is unreal. Being in the Academy for the past two years has helped me immensely. Compared to the other states, the Western Force has a smaller group, where they can focus on everyone individually and can bring them up through the ranks. Coming here was the best decision for mem," Amone claimed.
"I've learnt that it's not a sacrifice it's a choice to move over here. Moving over here was the best decision I've ever made because I get to live out my dream each day."
Emphasising the importance of nurturing young talent and providing a pathway in WA, the 2022 U20 Junior Wallaby continues to work within the Academy, honing his off-field development.
"I just like to be confident in what I can contribute to the team. My dad always told me that age is just a number if you're good enough, you're old enough."
"I'm just going to keep being consistent with my nutrition, my training, and just continue to keep my head down and get the job done."
"When I do all my video analysis, it helps build confidence going into the game. I have to be on top of the scrums and see how the opposition operates. This allows me to go into a game confident and knowledgeable and able to back my skill set."
"It's harder to keep consistently being in the team because the boys are so competitive. Everybody wants to play Super Rugby. This pushes me to keep putting in the extras every single week."
Amone, orignally from Sydney, highlights the moment his family flew to his new home of Perth to watch him run out for the first time at HBF Park.
"Having my brothers fly from Sydney to watch me debut in my first game at at HBF Park in my was such a special feeling."
"Also, It's not a common occurrence for a prop to score tries. So getting my first one in my fourth game was such a good feeling."
"It's such a good feeling, just being able to call your family and tell them you have reached your dream of playing professional rugby, leaving your family at a young age to come over here was all worth it."
Recently returned from his first professional Super Rugby tour, Amone admits he has learnt a great deal from being in and around senior players constantly.
"On the New Zealand tour I was lucky enough to room with Folau, I picked his brain about everything and he took me under his wing. I was very appreciative of that."
"I feel confident with my scrummaging ability, but it is the little technical parts I need to nail; I've still so much to learn."
"Simon Cron just says to continue to back yourself like the boys back you. Just continue to be confident yourself and just continue to work hard."
"Cron continues to push me to want to be a winner, and it cuts deep when we lose. He has helped me improve my mental game a lot."
