In adrenaline pumping start-to-finish matchup, the Western Force showed their dominance beating the Hong Kong Dragons by 21 points on Friday night.
In a honourable 50th game for Force heroes Byrnard Stander and Marcel Brache, the team put on a show displaying an electrifying attack to finish the game with a score of 45 – 24.
The match started off fast as the Western Force went straight on the attack with fullback Jack McGregor using his footwork to cut up the Hong Kong Dragons’ defence, putting a score on the board within the first three minutes.
It seems nothing could stop McGregor as found his way through the Dragons’ defence to score his second try in the match helping his team to a 14 point lead early in the first half.
Not to be outdone, the Hong Kong Dragons hit back quickly putting themselves in good field position that enabled them to drive over and score, halving the Western Force lead.
Brad Lacey had a strong impact throughout the match using his composure under the highball to give the Force a deadly counter attack.
Keen to make his mark Clay Uyen used his speed to get on the scoreboard crashing over to set the score at 21 – 7 at half time.
Using the strength in the forwards the Force were able to dominate the second half of the game.
After stringing together multiple phases they were able to push over lock Harrison Orr as they continued to pile up points.
Needing to stay alive the Hong Kong Dragons hit back strong rallying their team together as they replied with a try of their own once again cutting the lead down to 14 points.
The intensity multiplied over the second half as the Hong Kong Dragons fought hard to narrow the scoreboard.
But they stood their ground to make sure the match was one to celebrate, finishing in style with Harry Scoble scoring the final try well after the final siren.
To cap of an exhilarating match, Brynard Stander honoured his 50th game by nailing the last conversion as the Force celebrated a win to remember.
