Scoring a try only moments after coming onto the field in last weekends game against the Melbourne Rising, Cameron Orr is looking forward to seeing what the matchup against the Fijian Drua could bring.
Playing for the top spot on the ladder this Saturday, Cameron has no doubt that this could be one of the toughest games of the season.
“Everyone knows the Fijians are fantastic ballplayers, but I think we have got quite an exciting element of ourselves where our forwards can do that sort of attacking play too,” Cameron said.
Moving back to Australia with his brother, Harrison Orr, Cameron was excited for the opportunity to play with Harrison on a professional level and several months later he is still enjoying every moment of it.
“It’s always been a dream to play with Harry professionally, every time I get to run on with him it’s an honour,” he said.
“I really embrace the fact that I get to play alongside my brother and my best mate so it just adds that extra incentive when I get on to make sure I do my best.”
While he is not playing rugby Cameron is a big believer of having a good mindset and with this week is Mental Health Awareness week he is taking the time to talk about a cause he is passionate about.
“We have been involved with Headspace Armadale, Harrison and I believe having a strong mindset and strong mental health is the key in sports but also life in general,”
“We wanted to do our part in involving ourselves, we know everyone goes through their own struggles,” the 23-year-old said.
Cameron said he deals with the stresses of being a professional athlete by having a balance.
“Definitely balance is the key part in my life,” he said.
“Rugby is quite a stressful thing with selections and playing at the top level, it’s management of that but also taking time away from rugby to focus on other things like being involved with University.”

The Western Force take on the Fijian Drua on Saturday, October 13 at UWA Sports Park. Kick-off at 2pm.
