What are you looking forward to in 2020?
I am really looking forward to the full Global Rapid Rugby competition kicking off! The home and away element is really exciting and we get to show the other professional competitions what we are about. After another successful season last year we want to improve on that and go again.

Earliest rugby memory?
I actually played soccer up until Grade 7 and then I had a schoolmate come over and said they needed some numbers for a rugby game and asked whether I would like to come along and play. Ever since then I haven’t looked back and that was the first memory.

Who is your inspiration?
Growing up in Queensland it was David Croft, the openside flanker for the Reds.

Which position would you play if not the one you currently play?
So I started at flanker back in the day, until Grade 10 when I put on a bit too much weight and had players like Liam Gill, who played for the Reds and the Wallabies, ahead of me. Obviously I wasn’t going to take his spot so the coach suggested I give hooker a go, I turned out to be alright at it and it allowed me to stay a bit bigger than what I usually would have been.

What’s something not many people know about you? Maybe a secret talent?
I don’t know if any of them are appropriate!

Favourite player to watch growing up?
I always admired George Smith when I was a kid. The dreadlocks and the skill he could show over the ball.

What do you do when you’re not playing rugby?
I am studying but I would not say I am a very studious university student, always leaving things until the last minute. I’d rather go out onto the golf course and whack a few balls.

If you weren’t a professional rugby player you would be?
We always joke that I would be working at a drive through at Maccas. I am studying business, real estate and property, so hopefully one day I will transition into real estate and property development.

What is your signature dish to cook?
Probably just steak and veggies, keep it simple!

Favourite movie?
Happy Gilmore or Billy Madison, they are the all time Adam Sandler greats!
