Fan Day Fun

Hundreds of Force Members and fans braved the heat on Saturday afternoon for a memorable Fan Day at Wanneroo Rugby Club.

With temperatures reaching 41 degrees, the Spinifex pop-up bar, Boost Juice and ice cream truck proved essential for those getting their first glimpse of the Force in action for 2022.

The SuperW squad continued their preparations for the upcoming season (further details coming soon) with an intense session before the crowd arrived.

Force fans enjoyed a fun-filled day with the Harvey Beef sausage sizzle, Canning Vale and Maddington Toyota mini cars, 96FM Roadies, Freedom Fairies face painters and a Monsterball bouncy castle happening around the grounds.

Conditions cooled off nicely for the internal trial match at 4:30pm. With the squad organised to include a mix of experience and youth to create Force Gold and Force Black teams, it was an entertaining first hit-out of the year.

The 30-minute match was the perfect opportunity for the group to gain vital match practice, especially for the new recruits and those returning from injuries sustained last year.

Head coach Tim Sampson was delighted with the effort from both teams and to have the fans back watching the team.

“It was very pleasing to see the squad out on the park today. It’s been a long pre-season period, and everyone was looking forward to this first hit-out,” Sampson said.

“It’s been a while, so it was fantastic to see familiar faces among our Members and supporters out here enjoying the day.

“Although it was a shorter modified game, there were promising signs and some individuals who we haven’t seen much of certainly put their best foot forward.”

The club would like to thank everyone who came down on Saturday to show their support, our proud partners, and the Wanneroo Rugby Club for hosting an amazing day.

Next up is the Season Launch on February 11. Secure your seats at the Westin Grand Ballroom to hear from CEO Tony Lewis, Head Coaches Tim Sampson and Wayne Waldon, and be introduced to the 2022 playing squads over breakfast HERE.
