Returning to the Western Force following two seasons in the capital, Issak Fines-Leleiwasa is determined to continue the club's upward trajectory in 2022.

Having enjoyed two successful years with the Force, which included a Nathan Sharpe Medal and NRC title in 2019, the 26-year-old returns to Perth from the ACT Brumbies with more experience and a 2020 Super Rugby AU championship to his name.

The skilful scrumhalf rejoined the Force on a two-year deal in June and is relishing being back amongst so many familiar faces.

"It was an easy decision for me to come back to this environment, as it's one I really enjoyed and thrived in previously," Fines-Leleiwasa explained.

"It's been great to see the Force develop over the last couple years back in Super Rugby, so to now be a part of the club moving forward is really exciting. "I couldn't be happier to be back working alongside the likes of Sambo (Tim Sampson), Ferg (Fergus Lee-Warner) and Gregs (Jack McGregor)."

Tasting Super Rugby success last year, the playmaker is looking to bring a cutting edge to the squad following its maiden finals berth. "There's a perfect combination of youth and experience in the team and from the way we've been training, it's clear to see how close everyone is getting," he said.

"The playing style really suits my game with a lot of ball running and skills involved, which is what you want as a player and as a spectator.

"I want to bring a winning mindset and mentality to the team to help us reach the next level."

With the players at the tail-end of an intense eight-week training block, Fines-Leleiwasa is counting down the days to the start of the season.

"Pre-season has been tough, but really enjoyable. I'm so pumped to get back out there in front of the fans. The Sea of Blue plays such a pivotal role for this club with their passion and support, it's unbelievable," Fines-Leleiwasa stated.

"I can't wait to be playing Super Rugby in front of them next year, it's going to be something special to me personally having been on that journey with them previously."
