Fortescue Academy half-back Cristiano Tizzano showed off his blistering speed with a try in Associates’ impressive 54-12 win over Issak Fines-Leleiwasa’s Perth Bayswater on Saturday.
Soaks’ victory over Baysie at Allen Park on Saturday saw them rise to second in WA’s Fortescue Premier Grade Conference A ladder ahead of the finals which start in three weeks.
Tizzano burst clear to run in Associates’ second try as they raced to a 28-0 half-time lead aided by the return of ex-Force scrum-half Ian Prior following his time with the Zimbabwe national team, who won the recent Rugby Africa Men’s Cup in Uganda.
Academy full-back Justin Landman also started for Associates, while Fines-Leleiwasa continued in his role at 15 for Baysie, displaying his pace and passing speed at times.
New Force signing Divad Palu made his starting debut for Nedlands as they were downed 39-32 by Cottesloe at Harvey Field.
Palu, who played off the bench last week for Neddies, starting at outside-centre.
Force prop Marley Pearce celebrated his 21st birthday in style, starting in Joondalup’s 41-36 victory away to UWA.

In NSW’s Shute Shield on Saturday, Ronan Leahy linked up with Tom Horton and George Poolman in Sydney Uni’s starting XV for their 42-19 loss to minor premiers Easts.
Sydney Uni have missed the top-six finals which commence in a fortnight’s time. Poolman produced some magic, grabbing a chip and chase to set up Theo Strang’s second-half try.
Force trio Max Burey, Henry O’Donnell and Siosifa Amone all started as finals-bound Northern Suburbs went down 27-25 to Gordon.
Burey provided the pass to the right edge for Carrick McDonough’s 26th minute try for a 10-7 lead.
Academy hooker Albert Alcock started for West Harbour in their 40-28 win over Warringah.
