Fortescue Academy trio Ollie Barrett, Boston Fakafanua and Finn Prass have been named in the Australia U20s’ 31-man squad to contest The Rugby Championship U20 in South Africa next month.

The squad will assemble in Perth next week before departing for Gqeberha (formerly Port Elizabeth) on Friday 25 April.

The tournament runs Thursday 1 May to Sunday 11 May, with all games taking place at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium.

The team's matches against New Zealand U20, South Africa U20 and Argentina U20 will serve as their final competitive hit-outs ahead of the World Rugby U20 Championship in Italy in June.

"We have a talented group of players who are eager to learn and excited by the opportunity to represent Australia on the international stage," Australia U20s’ head coach Chris Whitaker said.

"For many of them this will be their first time managing the challenge of international travel and five-day turnarounds, combined with three tough, physical games.

"TRC U20 is about consolidating and adding layers to what we started together in Coffs Harbour last week, as we continue to build up to the World Rugby U20 Championship."

For parents, kids and coaches interested in watching training during the Australia U20s camp in Perth, the team will be training at UWA Sports Park on Wednesday 23 April 4pm-6pm and Thursday 24 April 11am-1pm alongside the Fortescue Academy.
