Western Force Academy flyer Peni Naqau will compete at the Fiji Coral Coast Sevens starting on Thursday as part of the Chennai Bulls Select side.
The Coral Coast Sevens will be played between 24 men’s teams across six pools from Thursday-Saturday 15-17 January at Lawaqa Park, Sigatoka. There are also 10 women’s teams competing across two pools plus 16 youth teams.
It is Fiji's premier annual rugby sevens tournament, drawing elite teams and players from around the globe to the picturesque town of Sigatoka.
Naqau will link up with the Chennai Bulls Select side through their strong links to RugbyWA and the Force.
The Southern Lions winger will be joined by four Indian national team players and nine local Fijian players in the Chennai Bulls line-up. Chennai are India’s 2025 Rugby Premier League champions.
The Coral Coast Sevens is a great opportunity for Naqau’s development, showcasing him in a high-level competition alongside and against the world’s best sevens players.
There are teams from Fiji, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Solomon Islands, Great Britain, Canada and USA among the pools. Chennai is grouped with USA 7s, McDonald’s Mike Friday Select 7s and Axellerate Dominion Brothers (Fiji).
Chennai’s campaign starts on Thursday from 11:59am Fiji time against USA 7s. More info on fixtures./results here.
