The Western Force have won the Rapid Rugby Asia Pacific Showcase Series after a narrow win against the Asia Pacific Dragons at Queenstown Stadium, Singapore.

Hot and humid conditions saw a highly competitive game with Heath Tessmann scoring the only try of the match to finish the game 7-3.

The Dragons were the first to put points in the board with Latiume Fosita kicking a penalty goal 13 minutes in.

But the home team found themselves in strife shortly after, playing one man down after their Captain Stacy Ellis received a yellow card.

In a suspenseful match, both teams created plenty of good opportunities, keeping the spectators on their toes, but failing to execute them kept the score stayed unchanged.

A strong maul and some good work by the forwards saw Heath Tessmann inching over the line for the first try of the match just before the half-time siren.

The second half saw a highly contested battle with both sides working hard.
