Four Western Force players have been selected for the Wallaroos’ Pacific Four Series opener against Canada in Sacramento from 10am WST this Sunday live on Stan Sport.

Force trio Michaela Leonard, Sammy Wood and Nicole Ledington will all start to the game, with Leonard coming into the side that downed Fijiana 33-15 in Canberra a fortnight ago. Cecilia Smith will start among the reserves.

Kalamunda pair Wood and Ledington will team up again in the halves, with the latter starring with a try and try-saving tackle on debut against Fijiana.

Earlier this week Ledington told reporters: “It was a surreal debut.

“When you go out there, I want to just do my job for the team, so for it to turn out that way and get the win with the girls was awesome. It’ll be awesome to build on that and take that confidence into Canada.”

Sunday’s game is the first of three for the Wallaroos in the upcoming Pacific Four Series during April, including clashes against USA in Kansas City on April 17 and New Zealand in Sunshine Coast on April 25.
