The Western Force is delighted to announce the signing of up-and-coming prop Charlie Hancock for the 2023 and 2024 season.

Weighting in at a beastly 118kg, Hancock is known for his aggressive, competitive nature dominating the breakdown.

Head coach, Simon Cron states Hancock is an asset to the squad and adds front row depth.

“Charlie is an incredibly intelligent person. He has been extremely focused on his study over the last five years. He has a lot of upsides mainly that he is tough, and we think he will add to the squad,” Cron attested.

Fresh off a championship win in the Shute Shield, Cron states: “Charlie was dominate in the high stakes game, I know he will bring that hunger to the West.”

Hancock is eager to test the pace of professional rugby during the two-match series in Japan.

“It’s very exciting to be playing in Japan. It will be my first taste of professional rugby. It will also be a great opportunity to immerse myself within the professional off-field environment,” Hancock claimed.

“Playing these two matches in Japan is a great opportunity to put my best foot forward and show the coaches what I can do.”

Eager to learn from Force’s prop stocks, Hancock is relishing the opportunity to don the blue jersey.

“A big part of coming to Perth was the front row depth. The Force have two established Wallabies hookers. I’m super excited to learn directly off Angus Wagner, Tom Robertson, and Santiago Medrano,” Hancock mentioned.

“I think this is a really great opportunity for me to learn off the more experience players and have a really decent crack at potentially making my debut.”

“In my first meeting with Crono and Hodgo (Matt Hodgson), I was really impressed by the standards and attitudes they are cementing at the Force. It sounds like a great organisation to be a part of.”

“I have a couple of mates plating for the Force, and they can’t speak highly enough of the culture there.”

Currently finishing a five-year Law Degree at Sydney University, Hancock’s focus has shifted from textbooks to code and is set to run on for the Force Sunday 6 Nov 2022 in Japan.
