The Western Force is thrilled to announce the signing of Wallaroos hooker Katalina Amosa for the 2026 Swyftx Super Rugby Women’s season.
The 23-year-old front-rower joins the Force after a breakout 2025 season where she played nine of 11 Tests for the Wallaroos, including being part of the Women’s Rugby World Cup squad in England.
Amosa, who is the younger sister of Force men’s hooker Brandon Paenga-Amosa, joins the Force after spending the past two seasons with the ACT Brumbies.
The Amosas are the third sister-brother combination to play Test Rugby for Australia, with brother Brandon debuting in 2018.
Amosa earned her Australia debut against Fijiana in Suva in May after a strong Super W campaign with the Brumbies, where she made four appearances including two starts, bouncing back after a long-term knee injury hampered her 2024 season.
Force head coach Dylan Parsons said: “Kat is a really exciting signing. She had a breakout Wallaroos season last year.
“She’s still experiencing the change in position from back row to hooker. Kat is learning her craft as a hooker and still has a huge amount of potential.
"We’re already seeing some really good changes since she has arrived, which is exciting signs for what she can do at the Force.”
Amosa, who also has a netball background, started her rugby journey via Rugby Sevens in 2016, moving into the 15-a-side game in 2018.
The Southern Districts product moved to Perth last month and has already commenced training with her new teammates, infusing herself into the environment.
Parsons added: “Kat's a great person and fits into our Maali DNA. She’s already integrated into the environment and fitted in well with the girls.
"This is another exciting signing where an international level player is choosing the Western Force to be the program to help support their goals and ambitions."
Amosa is the latest addition to the Force’s 2026 squad, with nine re-signings announced last week, following on from the contract extension of Parsons as head coach.
