Global Rapid Rugby has delivered again with another fast-paced high action game of rugby as the Western Force dismantle the Asia Pacific Dragons by 32 points.
There was a distinct community feel to the match as the Western Force boys wore club socks during the game and two local debutants made their first run out in Carlos Tizzano and Micheal McDonald.
It was an undisciplined start for the Force as the Asia Pacific Dragons took an early lead with a penalty goal struck from the 22-metre line.
The Force got right back on track making metres with big line breaks which eventually led to the first try of the match delivered by Johan Bardoul.
AJ Alatimu stepped up to the plate taking on the nights kicking duties, nailing the first conversion right off the bat.
Only a couple of minutes later it was try time for the Asia Pacific Dragons taking back the lead when Mike McKee crashed over the line.
Force showed off some skill at the line-out, using the rolling maul to send over young debutant Carlo Tizzano for his first try in Global Rapid Rugby.
Keeping his perfect conversion rate, AJ slotted another on through to extend the lead.
A lot of drop balls and turnovers as the first half came to a close with the Force almost crashing over just before the siren only to drop it just before the line, finishing the half 14-10.
Almost immediately after the start of the second half, superstar Henry Taefu broke through the line to run from halfway and score an excellent try.
Back at it, the Force got on the front foot as back-rower Henry Stowers blasted through the middle to touch down under the sticks outlining the weakness in the Dragons defence.
As the clock wound down the Western Force continued to pile on the pressure, the fresh hands of Feleti Kaitu’u stole a turnover putting him under the posts.
As that fat lady sang the Dragons held the ball and continued to attack the Western Force line.
A quick turnover led to a big boot from Brad Lacey giving the opportunity for speedster Rod ‘Rocket’ Davis to dash down the field and add to the lead after the siren finishing the game 42 – 10.
