Fortescue Academy downs Southern Lions in club game

The Western Force’s Fortescue Academy started their run of three games against Fortescue Premier Grade clubs with victory, downing Southern Lions 48-5 in Success on Saturday.

Academy fly-half Brodie Mainwaring and winger Wallace Charlie both scored doubles in the victory. Mainwaring also slotted four conversions.

Back-rowers Nate Gallagher and Billy Browne also scored, along with full-back Justin Landman and front-rower Zane Wesley.

Among those in action for Southern Lions was Force trio Lopeti Faifua, Tiaan Tauakipulu and Papillon Sevele, who marked his competitive return following long-term injuries.

The Academy will next up play Cottesloe on Saturday 12 April from 11am WST at Harvey Field, before a third game against Nedlands on Saturday 26 April.
