The Western Force are excited to confirm that British and Irish Lions backs coach Andrew Goodman will be a guest speaker at the upcoming Long Lunch at Optus Stadium.

It has also now been confirmed that experienced and popular Australian rugby TV presenter Nick McArdle will host the Long Lunch too, with more guest speakers to be confirming in coming weeks.

The official Western Force vs British and Irish Lions Long Lunch will be held at Optus Stadium’s River View Room on Friday 27 June from 1pm-4pm ahead of the two sides’ tour game at the venue.

The Force-Lions game is the tour opener ahead of a thrilling once-every-12-years series that includes three Tests against the Wallabies.

Attack guru Goodman was last month announced as part of the British and Irish Lions coaching staff for the tour.

For a young coach, Goodman boasts an impressive and decorated CV, including currently working as Ireland’s backs coach while he was part of Samoa’s coaching set-up at the 2023 Rugby World Cup.

Nelson-born Goodman previously was the Crusaders’ assistant coach in Super Rugby, helping them to the 2022 title, and coached Tasman in New Zealand’s NPC. He’s also worked as an assistant coach for two years at Leinster Rugby, where he won the Celtic League and European Challenge Cup during his playing days.

Be part of this once-every-12-years event which will include a three-course lunch, guest speakers from the Lions camp and the chance to watch the touring side in the flesh training at Optus Stadium ahead of Saturday’s Force-Lions tour game.

The tour will see the Lions play nine matches in Australia, with three Tests against the Wallabies, and six tour games around the country starting in Perth.
