After facing the Sydney Rays this weekend the Force locked away their fourth win of the season in a blowout victory 63-15 at UWA Sports Park.
Lock Fergus Lee-Warner had another standout performance on Sunday and has had an impactful NRC season so far with over 42 carries across the first five games.
The young forward spoke about the resilience of the group during the first half of the game after a slow start.
“We started a bit off, even though we knew they would come out strong but it was good that we weathered the storm and chipped away at the game and got back on top by the end of the first half,” he said.
Lee-Warner elaborated on the Force’s continued strong use of set pieces.
“Overall, when we stick to our processes and set pieces, the scrums have been our strong point,” he said.
“But this week if we aren’t being contested in our lineouts we want to execute it better,”
The 24-year-old has been enjoying his time playing professional rugby in the West and considers the journey so far one of his career highlights.
“One of my highlights would be just travelling to the east coast and compiling wins as a team in the NRC,” Lee-Warner said.
“Just in general being here is a highlight in itself and being able to do this as a job is pretty amazing.
“I’m so happy to be here, I am living the dream.”
The Force played the Melbourne Rebels earlier this year going down in a tightly contested wet weather battle during World Series Rugby.
Drawing from that experience the team knows the intensity that Melbourne players can bring and are preparing to meet the aggression of the Melbourne Rising squad.
“They will be aggressive, similar to our World Series game against the Rebels and they have a lot to prove,” Lee-Warner said.
“We know we are coming off a good win but we know they will come out firing so we need to meet their aggression and beat them.”
