The Western Force are excited to announce the advent of the North vs South Women’s Series which will be played across three games in October and November in Perth.
The North vs South concept is geared towards identifying and developing the top female talent across Western Australia, providing meaningful and high-quality match opportunities.
The seven Fortescue Women’s Premier Grade clubs have been split into two regions, with Wests Scarborough, Wanneroo and UWA representing the North and Palmyra, Southern Lions, Kalamunda and Cottesloe representing the South.
Selection will be based on club performances, previous Academy involvements and talent identification from Force and RugbyWA staff. Teams will be announced in early September, with training to commence on Tuesday 9 September.
The three games will be played across consecutive weekends in late October and early November, with venues to be confirmed.
Western Force female high performance pathways manager Claudia Bell said: “We’re really excited to announce this women’s rugby pathway series.
“The purpose is to help with talent identification within the Western Australian pool for the 2026 Super W squad and future development.
“The training block and games represent an opportunity benchmark player readiness in a controlled, competitive setting. We anticipate it will strengthen the WA women’s rugby pipeline by mirroring high-performance standards and creating a clear step progression into the Super W Western Force program.
“There are additional development benefits for coaches and officials, along with the promotion of women’s rugby across the state.”
Coaches, teams and fixtures will be confirmed in coming weeks.
