The towering 200cm second-rower brings quality and a calming presence, leading the side as captain during its run to the 2025 Super Rugby AUS Grand Final. The 17-cap Wallabies lock was a revelation in his maiden season at the Force, finishing fourth in Nathan Sharpe medal voting and leading the side for lineouts won, which was arguably the side’s strongest weapon. Swain’s impact led to a Wallabies squad recall but he was unable to add to his 17 caps, the most recent in 2022. He’ll leave for French Top 14 club Clermont at the end of this season. Born in Babinda in Far North Queensland, Swain made the move to Canberra in 2016 to join the Brumbies where he played 75 matches and won the 2020 Super Rugby AU title. Swain has Samoan heritage on his mother’s side. He’s also a father, a keen golfer and has studied a Bachelor of Business Management.
