Koteka is a long-serving WA-born-and-bred Force player, who originates from Premier Grade club Wests Scarborough. The flanker debuted for the Force in 2015, becoming the first member of the Future Force Foundation academy to make a Super Rugby appearance. He has made 41 appearances for the Club, winning the 2021 Nathan Sharpe Medal along the way, built around his reputation as a team-first player full of energy and toughness. Koteka faced adversity when he missed both the 2023 and 2024 seasons following a Sport Integrity Australia ban for the unintentional use of a banned substance in December 2022, but returned to Force training in late 2024.
