Perth-born-and-raised Hastie has joined the club he supported as a child following several years in New Zealand where he spent the past few seasons playing for the Highlanders. The scrum-half is a Wanneroo junior, who moved to New Zealand in his teenage years, attending King’s High School in Dunedin before moving into the Otago and Highlanders set-ups. He played nine Super Rugby games in 2025, having debuted against the Force in Perth in 2023. He’s a talented half-back with an excellent skillset, great pass and the ability to kick on both feet. He’ll be part of Otago’s 2025 NPC Grand Final side.
