The Western Force U20s offered plenty of encouragement but ultimately have gone down 38-14 to the NSW Waratahs U20s at Daceyville on Saturday afternoon.
The Force U20s, who are embarking on a three-game tour of the east coast including two more fixtures against the ACT Brumbies in Canberra this week, created opportunities in the first half but couldn’t capitalize.
The Tahs showcased their quality and depth to lead 26-0 at the interval, before the Force rallied in the second half, scoring the final two tries.
Luke Holt-Brown provided a classy offload to release Boston Fakafanua to score the Force’s first try in the final 20 minutes down the middle.
Josh Whittingham’s creative pass on the right edge allowed Chase Bunce to dive over for further points, with Finn Prass converting.
The Force will take on the Brumbies next on Wednesday, with kick-off at 2pm WST.
