The Western Force are excited to launch the Club’s special edition 2025 jersey to be worn in the upcoming tour game against the British and Irish Lions at Optus Stadium on Saturday 28 June.
Force winger and Aboriginal artist Dylan Pietsch is the mind behind the design, having previously designed the Wallabies’ uniforms for the tour that includes three Tests and nine games in total.
The special jerseys, manufactured by Dynasty, will be sold on a limited-edition basis at Saturday's game at HBF Park – from $160 for adults and $140 for juniors, with 2025 Force Members entitled to a 10% discount.
The special edition jersey is a step away from the Force Super Rugby Pacific kit in periwinkle blue which celebrated the Club’s 20th season, with a move to a bold white collar and white side strips beside the distinctive force blue.
The design of Pietsch, who is a proud Wiradjuri man, is detailed with the feature being the Club’s Maali (black swan) depicted in its attack pose above the touring lion.
The Maali’s design retains the Force’s theme of feathers, with the connection circles in the wings. The lines on the Maali represent the rivers of WA. Sections of his Wallabies’ design are incorporated on the sleeves and below the Maali.
Pietsch initially began the Wallabies’ designs in 2023, and has created three different jerseys for this tour, the Wallabies, Force and former club Waratahs.
“To have three of my designs in the whole Lions series is a really big feat for me and my artwork,” Pietsch said.
“I’m really stoked to see my artwork on the main stage and can’t wait to wear it too.
“I’m delighted with the Force jersey specifically, given what I’ve learned about WA and the Club and its connection to the Maali since moving west.”
Pietsch, who has five Wallabies caps, became the 15th Indigenous player in Wallabies history to pull on the jersey, continuing his rise after featuring for Australia at the Tokyo Olympics.
Narrandera-born Pietsch has shown glimpses of his brilliance with the Force in an injury-interrupted first season at the Club, scoring three tries in six games.
The Force special edition jerseys will be available for purchase at Saturday’s final 2025 Super Rugby Pacific game against the NSW Waratahs at HBF Park. Kick-off is 5:35pm, gates open 4:05pm. Tickets available here.
