The Western Force are delighted to announce the contract extension of homegrown front-rower Marley Pearce for a further three years.

The 21-year-old Perth-born loosehead prop has been a revelation since breaking into the Force’s Super Rugby side in the 2023 season, where he won the Club’s Rising Star award.

Pearce, who is a Joondalup Brothers product and Fortescue Academy graduate, finished eighth in the Club’s Nathan Sharpe medal in 2025 despite a shoulder injury ending his season in Round 10.

The former Australia U20s international has clocked up 27 Super Rugby appearances for the Force since his 2023 debut.

Pearce started eight of nine games in 2025 before injury intervened, underlining his emerging importance to the side, having previously only started three games.

Force head coach Simon Cron was thrilled to see the hometown hero re-commit to the Club until the 2028 Super Rugby season.

Cron said: “Part of his development as a prop comes with experience and age. We feel like this year he’s really taken another step in his game.

“He’s not only a big body and doing a great job at scrum time, but he’s got good feet and a high work rate around the park. He’s got a really high ceiling for us.

“He’s a WA boy through and through, so we’ve just got to keep growing him and investing in him.

“You’ve got to earn your spot and Marley has done that as a local player coming through the WA pathway.  What he’s done in our program over the last two-and-a-half-years is a credit to him and his development where he can now compete against the best players in the world.

“You can see by signing a three-year deal that he’s invested in the Western Force as well, keeping that core group of players together.”

Pearce, who recalls attending Force games as a child at Subiaco Oval when his father Michael was part of the Club’s medical staff, said he was ecstatic to re-sign with his hometown team.

Pearce said: “I’m grateful to extend with my hometown Club. I’m really happy with how it’s going at the Force and it’s a privilege to represent WA for three more years.

“We’ve got a good core group of players, with a lot of young guys like myself. If we stay together, we’ve got exciting potential. There’s no cap on how far we can go.

“I have really good relationships with the players here, like senior players Brandon Paenga-Amosa and Nick Champion de Crespigny who’ve helped me improve my game. The playing group has a real care for each other and drive each other every day. It’s a great place to be.”

Pearce, who has Maori and First Nations (Wardandi Noongar) heritage, was on Sunday named to play for the First Nations-Pasifika side off the bench against the British and Irish Lions in Melbourne on Tuesday.
