The Western Force is thrilled to confirm the appointment of Mark Kilgallon as the Club’s new head of athletic performance for the Super Rugby Pacific squad.
Kilgallon brings a wealth of experience across rugby and AFL, joining the Force from the West Coast Eagles where he was the head strength and conditioning coach for the past three years.
A native Irishman, Kilgallon has previous experience in rugby working with Irish United Rugby Championship outfit Munster and English Premiership Rugby club Leicester Tigers.
He also spent three years with the Wales Rugby Union’s National Academy where he helped with planning and program delivery for the 2015 Rugby World Cup.

He has spent the best part of the past decade working in AFL with stints at Sydney Swans (2015-2021) and the Eagles (2022-2025).
Kilgallon developed his skills as a strength and conditioning coach at Harvard University and has also worked at Aspire Sports Academy in Qatar and the Sports Institute of Northern Ireland.
Force rugby general manager Chris Goodman said: “Mark comes from a rugby background and has vast experience in designing and leading strength and power development programs in elite teams.
“With his knowledge and experience, we’re excited about the impact he can make on the Force squad and our strength and conditioning team moving forward.”
Kilgallon will officially commence in his new role on Monday 3 November in line with the beginning of Force pre-season training for the 2026 Swyftx Super Rugby Pacific season.
Kilgallon said: “I’m really looking forward to starting in the role. Speaking with Crono (head coach Simon Cron) and the staff, we’re really excited about the group of players they’ve put together. I can’t wait to come in, help the squad get better and show it on the field.
“I’ve worked in rugby before and I’m looking forward to getting back into the sport and the challenge ahead at the Force.”
