Wanneroo Districts Rugby Union Club were celebrated for their 2025 premiership-winning heroics on Saturday night with a lap of honour at the Western Force-Chiefs’ Grass Roots Game at HBF Park.

The Roodogs claimed an historic WA Fortescue Premier Grade double last September, winning both the men’s and women’s Grand Finals, with victories over Palmyra and Wests Scarborough respectively.

Wanneroo’s men’s triumph was their first-ever Premier Grade crown since its establishment in 1981.

For the Wanneroo women it was back-to-back premierships under head coach Des Taurima who was part of the lap of honour.

Wanneroo 2025 premiership players, along with coaches and volunteers were among the contingent of approximately 60 Roodogs who enjoyed their moment in front of 5,000 Force fans at HBF Park.

The Wanneroo lap of honour was part of the Force’s Grass Roots Game, geared towards celebrating and recognizing the incredible contribution rugby clubs make across WA.

Senior and junior representatives from more than a dozen RugbyWA clubs lined up for a guard of honour as both teams ran onto the field pre-game.

Force players visited their allocated RugbyWA Premier Grade clubs across the metropolitan area on Tuesday night ahead of the game, with Marley Pearce and Nathan Hastie joining Wanneroo under-age teams at training.
