Western Force back-rower Carlo Tizzano scored a hat-trick in his second game back for UWA in Saturday’s 34-24 win over Southern Lions in WA’s Fortescue Premier Grade.

Tizzano returned to WA club rugby ranks for the first time since 2022 last week, scoring a try in a 38-36 victory over Kalamunda.

The 24-year-old loose forward set up Uni’s win over Saturday with two first-half tries, starting with a ninth-minute pick and go.

Tizzano added his personal second on the stroke of half-time, getting over in a rolling maul following a lineout.

The Force star completed his treble in the 46th minute, powering his way to the line past two tacklers, with UWA leading Conference B.

Wallaby Issak Fines-Leleiwasa scored a try for Perth Bayswater while Reesjan Pasitoa had an excellent game with the boot in a hard-fought 27-26 loss to leaders Palmyra.

Playing at full-back, Fines-Leleiwasa dotted in the 37th minute for Baysie’s second try which was converted by Pasitoa for a 20-7 lead before Palmyra rallied.

Playing at fly-half, Pasitoa finished with two conversions and two penalty goals.

Force front-rower Marley Pearce led the way alongside his brother Oakley Pearce in Joondalup’s 32-27 triumph over Wanneroo, for whom Fortescue Academy talent AJ Preketes scored a try.

Academy pair Justin Landman and Cristiano Tizzano were in action in Associates’ 36-27 win over Cottesloe. Landman nailed four conversions and a penalty goal, with the win lifting Soaks into fourth in Conference A.

In NSW’s Shute Shield on Saturday, Tom Horton marked his Force contract extension with a try in Sydney Uni’s 48-0 victory over West Harbour.

Horton crossed in the 12th minute, providing a good support run for an inside pass following Henry Clunies-Ross’ line break.

George Poolman started at right win for Uni, while Fortescue Academy hooker Albert Alcock started for West Harbour alongside Regi Churchward on the front row.

Max Burey and Siosifa Amone were both in action as Norths recorded a thrilling 25-24 victory over Eastwood.

Burey’s kick return pass led to Carrick McDorough’s outstanding 73rd minute try to make it 24-22, before a late game-winning penalty.

Will Harris started at number 8 for Easts in their 45-15 win over Wildfires in their Allianz Stadium curtain-raiser.

In Queensland’s Hospital Cup on Saturday, lock Lopeti Faifua and Fortescue Academy full-back Finn Prass both started for Wests and Brothers respectively in wins.
