The Western Force is currently in a gruelling pre-season period with hot summer days ahead. The team faces strong exposure to the sizzling Perth heat which is why the club is teaming up with skin cancer prevention clinic Shade Skin.

Shade Skin Cancer Medicine is a state-of-the-art skin check and skin cancer medical centre based in West Perth. The facility is built with diagnosis and treatment facilities.

The importance of getting regular skin checks is not lost on Force star Kurtley Beale who recently had a skin check with medical director Dr Emily Alfonsi as part of the partnership.

Beale said: “We are constantly training and playing in the heat and in the middle of the day which means we need to make sure we get regular skin checks so it is great that Shade Skin can assist with this initiative.”

The partnership reinforces the Force’s commitment to holistic player wellbeing, ensuring athletes are supported both on and off the field as they prepare for the season ahead.

Medical Director Dr Emily Alfonsi says the partnership reflects a shared commitment to player and community wellbeing.

“We are excited to work with the Western Force and help keep players and staff aware of any skin abnormalities and the importance of regular checks.”

Shade Skin Cancer Medicine is located at 97 Outram Street in West Perth, and Force fans are encouraged to book a skin check online through shadeskin.com.au.
